Hawks Set to Host Second Annual Neon Nights eSports Tournament
The Santiago Canyon College eSports team is set to host Neon Nights, an immersive Night Market-style community event centered around technology, gaming, and Esports, on Thursday, May 14, inside the college gymnasium.
Doors open at 4:00 PM, with festivities beginning at 5:00 PM and continuing through 9:00 PM. The event is open to the general public, and community members of all ages are encouraged to attend.
Neon Nights, hosted by head coach Roshan Uma, will transform the SCC gymnasium into a vibrant interactive experience featuring live Esports competition, technology showcases, food vendors, industry networking, student innovation, and entertainment designed to celebrate the growing intersection of gaming, education, and emerging technology.
The centerpiece of the event will be the Neon Nights Main Stage, featuring a fully produced Esports experience complete with live student matches, commentary, awards, and entertainment. The 40-foot stage, equipped with a 20-foot LED video wall, will provide an arena-style atmosphere for competitors and spectators alike. The Main Stage will also host the Prompt-a-Thon Grand Finale and special presentations throughout the evening.
The event will feature several interactive areas designed to engage attendees and connect them with educational and professional opportunities.
Neon Nights' Resource Alley will showcase a wide variety of academic programs offered at Santiago Canyon College while also connecting attendees with industry professionals and partners from the technology, gaming, and medical sectors. In true Night Market fashion, local artists, creators, and vendors will also be featured throughout the event.
One of the evening's signature attractions will be the Prompt-a-Thon, an innovative competition blending creativity, strategy, and artificial intelligence. Student teams will compete head-to-head using AI tools to develop creative solutions to real-world challenges connected to the medical industry, highlighting the transformative role technology continues to play in healthcare and innovation.
In addition to activities inside the gymnasium, attendees will have opportunities to enjoy food, meet local vendors, connect with the community, and learn more about the programs and opportunities available at Santiago Canyon College.
Neon Nights aims to bring together students, families, educators, gamers, and industry leaders for an evening celebrating innovation, creativity, and community engagement.
