Bio

Nicho DellaValle is in his third year as the Assistant Director of Athletics, overseeing the day-to-day operations and long-term vision for the department and its 10 intercollegiate programs. In this role, DellaValle is responsible for all game management, compliance and eligibility, sports information, department budgeting, and all athletic facilities including field maintenance and renovation planning, while supporting approximately 250 student-athletes and various staff across every program.

Before joining SCC, DellaValle spent seven years as the Sports Information Director at Riverside City College and one years as the Sports Information Specialist at Long Beach City College, bringing extensive experience in game management, website management, athletic communications, branding, and media relations.

DellaValle launched the college’s first women's beach volleyball, men's and women's eSports, and women's women’s flag football programs, and strengthened the department by hiring key head coaches Niloofar Mojab (women’s indoor and beach volleyball), Lou Simon (softball), and Kristen Sherman (women’s flag football). DellaValle also played a major role in organizing and executing the school’s first Hawk’s Flight 5K, a milestone athletics and community engagement event.

Outside daily operations, DellaValle represents the men’s and women’s soccer programs within the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) and contributes to campus governance through service on the SCC Professional Development Committee and the SCC Equity & Inclusion Committee. A former President of the California Community College Sports Information Association (3CSIA), DellaValle was honored with the 2022 Top Brass Award for excellence and leadership.

DellaValle earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Redlands and completed his undergraduate degree at California Lutheran University, where he was a four-year member of the Kingsmen baseball program that one back-to-back SCIAC titles.
