The Santiago Canyon College men's soccer team traveled to Santa Ana College on Friday afternoon for an Orange Empire Conference (OEC) showdown against the Dons. Despite generating multiple chances, the Hawks were held scoreless for the second straight match—but they also kept a clean sheet, resulting in a 0-0 draw.
This marks the second consecutive scoreless tie for the Hawks, following Tuesday's deadlock against Fullerton. With the result, SCC remains tied for fourth place with Fullerton in the highly competitive OEC standings.
Sophomore goalkeeper Diego Saldivar continued his standout season with another impressive performance between the posts, recording seven saves. It's the second time this season he has tallied that mark, and he has registered five or more saves in six of his last seven outings.
Saldivar now leads all OEC goalkeepers with 57 saves—19 more than the next closest competitor—solidifying his spot at the top of the conference leaderboard.
Offensively, the Hawks fired eight shots on goal, split evenly between the two halves. Freshman Jacob Vega led the team with three shots, including one on target, while freshman Abraham Garcia added two shots, also putting one on frame.
