The Santiago Canyon College women's soccer team hit the road Friday afternoon and came away with a 1-0 non-conference win over Moorpark College.
The Hawks controlled the tempo from the opening whistle, outshooting the Raiders 18-3. Sophomore forward Mia Lussier, coming off a hat trick in the home opener two games prior, delivered again with the match's lone goal in the 25th minute. She finished a feed from Rayleen Chairez to put Santiago Canyon on top.
From there, the Hawks' defense clamped down, limiting Moorpark to just three total shots. Sophomore goalkeeper Mikayla Worcester was steady in net, recording three saves to preserve the shutout victory.
The Hawks spread the attack across the roster, with eight different players registering shots. Sophomore Ayleen Jimenez led the way, while Lussier tallied three attempts, converting one for the game-winner. Freshmen Sienna Escutia, Noelle Zuvic, and Lexi Kotlar also kept pressure on the Raiders with two shots apiece landing on target.
