Three goals from Mia Lussier powered the Hawks to another well-earned road victory against the well-organized Irvine Valley College Lasers side battling to keep their playoff hopes alive.
For the first hour, the Hawks looked like a well-oiled machine. Around the ten-minute mark, freshman Lauren Tindukasiri played a clever pass into sophomore Ayleen Jimenez, who set up Lussier for a clean strike across the keeper to put SCC ahead 1–0. Lussier doubled the lead ten minutes later, finishing a fine serve from freshman Faith Ammann at the far post. Sophomore goalkeeper Makayla Worcester remained largely untroubled as the Hawks carried their two-goal advantage into halftime.
Shortly after the break, Jimenez extended the lead, rounding the keeper to slot home after a shot from sophomore Rayleen Chairez was parried. Another pinpoint through ball from Tindukasiri set up Lussier to complete her hat-trick, giving the Hawks a commanding 4–0 lead on the hour mark. IVC continued to press as the Hawks made late substitutions and were rewarded with two late goals following some uncharacteristic defensive errors.
